Frank and Louise Sharp for introducing me to the good folks who are members of the Cattlemen’s Texas Longhorn Registry (CTLR)and the Cattlemen’s Texas Longhorn Conservancy(CTLC). If you had not introduced me to Fayette Yates, Enrique Guerra, Shelby and Alice King, Sonny and Betty Detmer, Billy Jack Rankin, Bubba and Debbie Sullivan, Don and Debbie Davis and the other good people who are involved in the CTLR and CTLC I would have missed a life enriching experience.
Frank and Louise, I appreciate you.

My Expertise
“If I have an expertise in anything, it is not as a cattleman, so I defer to many or even most of the other members of the CTLR and CTLC when it comes to knowing cattle, but I do know I like Texas Longhorns. I like their disposition, their hardiness, their longevity, and their ease of calving. Taking care of Texas Longhorns is not difficult. For people like me who like cows, Texas Longhorns are ideal.
After trying other breeds of cattle, I have found that Texas Longhorns are more hearty, more enduring, and produce a greater number of quality calves than other breeds of cattle.
There are parts of our heritage that deserve preserving. I believe Texas Longhorns belong in that category. If you have cows and like history, you owe it to yourself to consider joining the CTLR or the CTLC, or maybe both to help preserve Texas Longhorns that are historically correct and genetically pure.” Thanks for stopping by!

The ancestors of today's Texas Longhorns originated around the salt marshes of the Guadaiquivir River valley in the Andalusian mountains of southwestern Spain.
